 The Aerostar wind turbine incorporates technology that traces its origins back to the early 1980s when the design was first created. Since then, the design has been updated and improved to take advantage of advances in technology and materials. The present design incorporates features that are the subject of several patents pending. These patents address innovations in the teetering rotor design, the blade tip brake mechanism, the system of acoustic isolation of the generator/gearbox assembly and an innovative generator excitation control system that substantially improves generator efficiency and output at low wind speeds.
These innovations, which are standard in every meter turbine which we manufacture, help to insure that every Aerostar owner has the quietest, most efficient small wind turbine available today. In fact, we believe the Aerostar 6 Meter has more innovative features and more pending patents than any small wind turbine in production today.
